The Outer Realms Market

Good morning everyone! I’ll be forging LIVE today at The Outer Realms market from 1pm-5pm!

The market is located at Symmes Township Park: 11600 N Lebanon Rd, Loveland, OH 45140!

Sadly, the coal forge will not be making an appearance today. The worm gear on it seized, so I’m unable to turn the gears. Worked on it last night and it still doesn’t want to crank. 

The show must go on, however! I’m letting the blower soak in vinegar, hopefully the rust and gunk blocking up the gear will dissolve. I’ll be bringing my propane forge with me so that I can still forge at the show!

I’m hoping to get the blower fixed soon, otherwise I may have to replace it. When there’s a will, there’s a way though. I’m certainly determined to get the blower running nice and smoother than ever!

Also, side note to anyone with a hand crank blower—don’t grease it! Use motor oil or transmission fluid instead. The person I bought this from used grease, which I assumed was ok. From all my troubleshooting research though, I’ve learned that greasing this up isn’t a good idea. Just stick some oil in there and it’ll be good. Found a new use for the oil I changed out of my car!
